Departure from Cuiabà Airport to reach the wonderful red stone canyon plunged into luxuriant and green forest of Chapada dos Guimaraes.
The village of Chapada dos Guimaraes is about 60 km away from Cuiabà and you can quickly access it through a smooth road. On the way we will take some stops to appreciate the surrounding landscape and some of the most relevant touristic places, more specifically the Portao do Inferno (The Door of Hell), an impressive 80-metre drop at the edge of the road and where there is a sense of mystery.
When arrived in Chapada Village and left your baggage in the hotel Pousada, we’ll take a short city sightseeing. Then overnight stay.
Departure in the morning to visit the National Park, where we will know the so-called “caminho das aguas” do Parque Nacional, a succession of 7 fascinating waterfalls where we are allowed to swim and relax in the middle of a luxuriant flora and fauna; then we could appreciate a small cave called the “Casa de Pedra”. Packed lunch.
Departure in the morning to reach the cave Aroe Jari (the largest sandstone cave in Brazil), 45 km away from the city and about half of its access road is unpaved, inside which there is the so-called Lagoa Azul, a natural crystal-clear water piscina. These waters are reflected on the cave walls.
We will have lunch in a country restaurant near the cave and on the way back we will stop at the “Mirante”, a sensational panoramic point; The Mirante is also the geodetic center of South America. Overnight stay in the Hotel.
In the morning an ecological walk in the pousada is planned, where we’ll see various and curious rock formations (e.g. “sewing machine”), and prehistoric rupestrian inscriptions.
Lunch, then visit of the impressive 86-metre waterfall, known as Veu de Noiva (bride veil). Return to Cuiabà Airport.
